- this is a FAN-(atic) CHALLENGE, which means that your prompts are... well, not the usual ones;
- it's open to artists and/or writers (plus there will be something also for lurkers, because we love you all!);
- all genre, all pairings, all 'verses, all cross-verses/crossovers, and even new original characters, ARE ALL ALLOWED;
Rules:
- deadline: 1st May 2010;
- no subscription required. You do not need to be a member of
- there will not be a separate Eagle’s Nest community; just post your entries in the BoB communities where we publicize the challenge. This way we hope to not lose potential participants for genre/pairing sake. The challenge is open to gen/het as well as slash;
- 1 task = 1 point. You could complete all the tasks, or just one, or just some of them. There will be banners & love for everyone, plus...
- ... for the brave souls who complete all the tasks, a Very Special Super Secret Prize :p ;
- you can use the same entry for more than just this challenge (for example, your "Yuletide" entry could be valid also for the "Big"-step), but...
- ... you cannot "recycle" past works! (*tkz* shame *tkz*)
- every prompt could be elaborate with a story or a drawing or a manipulation or an essay (for example, Why a BoB and a GK cross-over would be awesome, or spend 5000 words describing the delight of the church scene in The Breaking Point);
- for written works, the minimum word count is: 500 words; for drawings/manips, the minimum count is 500x500 pixel;
- if you don't understand something ask before you block it off, ok? :( It's a new strange idea.
Tasks:
. AU - "alternate universe" which means the world (universe) is different, really different.
examples: Easy Company are ancient Roman Legionaries. - For an AU essay instead of a fic, discuss if they would still be considered heroes if they had fought in Vietnam instead. - "Twitterpated " by

. Deleted - or "missing scene", a scene that was not presented on screen (it must fit in the canon perfectly).
examples: What happened in Nixon's airplane that exploded during Operation Varsity? - write an essay; for instance, on why the singing scene didn't make the final cut? - Not Lost by
. Gift - write a fic for an art, or make an art for a fic, or publicize a fic or artwork you really like and make a very huge comment (like a critic) for it.
examples: "I think your dog likes me." by
. If - "what if", something changes in the canon story.
examples: Speirs became commander of Dog Company - Routine by

see: Podfic @ Fanlore

would you be allowed to read your own fic for a podfic or is that too creepy/weird/pretentious?
just curious.

in regards to the amount of icons big and epic represent, they both have 100. ??
also,
im a little ditzy, but for the last four, if one is just posting icons, do they need written accompaniment or can they just be icons?
January 20 2010, 19:07:43 UTC 2 years ago
and yes, they could be just icons :) !!!
^_^

'cause the fic I'm writing now is going be for the medium category (unless is runs away and becomes epic), and it's my first in the fandom (seriously) so I sort of want to do the commentary for it. but, if that's a no, I'll adjust my plans :-)
